Selection Process: Joint CSIR-UGC NET Examination December 2024

The selection process for the CSIR NET 2024 examination is an important aspect for candidates planning to take the exam. Applications are open from 9 December 2024 to 30 December 2024, and the mode of the examination will be Computer-Based Test (CBT). The CSIR UGC NET December 2024 exam will be taken from 16 February 2025 to 28 February 2025.

The Selection Process of CSIR NET 2024 exam is for two key roles:

  • Junior Research Fellowship (JRF): For research-based fellowships.
  • Assistant Professor: For the teaching posts in Universities and Colleges.

To succeed, candidates must be well aware of the entire selection process for the CSIR NET 2024 exam. The details of the step-wise selection criteria of CSIR NET 2024 exam, are given below.

Pattern of Question Papers: The Test will have three parts. All the three parts will consist of objective type, multiple choice questions. There will be no break between the papers. The subject-wise scheme of the examination is as per details given below:

Question Pattern for Different Subjects:

  • Chemical, Earth, and Life Sciences:
    • Answer up to 15 questions in Part A, 35 in Part B, and 25 in Part C.
    • If more questions are attempted, only the first 15, 35, and 25 questions from each part will be evaluated.
    • Each question has four options, and only one is correct. Choose the best or correct answer.
  • Mathematical Sciences:
    • Answer up to 15 questions in Part A, 25 in Part B, and 20 in Part C.
    • If more questions are attempted, only the first 15, 25, and 20 questions from each part will be evaluated.
    • Each question in Parts A and B has four options, and only one is correct. In Part C, questions may have one or more correct answers, and full marks will be given only if all correct options are identified.
  • Physical Sciences:
    • Answer up to 15 questions in Part A, 20 in Part B, and 20 in Part C.
    • If more questions are attempted, only the first 15, 20, and 20 questions from each part will be evaluated.
    • Each question has four options, and only one is correct. The best or correct answer has to be chosen only.
