1. Written Examination

- Type: Objective (Multiple Choice Questions)

- Duration: 2.5 hours
- Paper II:Essay, Precis Writing, and Comprehension
- Type: Descriptive
- Marks: 100
- Duration: 2 hours
- Candidates must meet the minimum qualifying marks for each paper as set by the UPSC to proceed to the next stage.
2. Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
Candidates who qualify for the written examination must undergo a Physical Efficiency Test (PET) conducted by the CISF.
- This stage assesses the candidate’s physical fitness, including activities such as running, long jump, and other physical tasks.

3. Medical Examination
Candidates passing the PET will be subjected to a Medical Examination to ensure they meet the prescribed medical standards for service in the CISF.
- The medical test ensures that candidates are in sound physical and mental health and capable of performing the duties required of an Assistant Commandant.
4. Personality Test/Interview
- Candidates who clear the PET and medical examination will be called for a Personality Test/Interview conducted by the UPSC.
- Marks for Interview: 100
- This stage evaluates the candidate’s communication skills, decision-making ability, leadership qualities, and overall suitability for the role.
5. Final Merit List
- After completing all stages, a final merit list will be prepared by the UPSC based on the combined scores of the written examination and the Personality Test/Interview.
- The merit list will then be shared with the CISF authorities for further action.
